Radiators and wind machines
Now it’s time for cooling. For this, in keeping with the theme, I’m using two radiators from Aquacomputer. These radiators are special, so not only by their appearance, but also by their design. They are so-called tubular radiators and are completely different in structure from the usual network radiators. I will write more about this topic soon. But here’s another small spoiler: If you want it really quiet, a tube radiator is the best choice.
Since the radiators are not survivable without fans, I put the new Lian Li Unifans SL V2 on here. As always, there will also be a separate test for these fans in the new year.
Now these two sandwiches may also attend the planned party as metallic-plastic morsels and serve their purpose there.
Pixel Setter
Every party also needs a decent solo entertainer to entertain the guests. Therefore, the Palit RTX 3080 Gaming Pro OC is used here. This one, in keeping with the whole stainless steel and copper theme, I retrofitted with the Aquacomputer kryographics NEXT RTX 3080 Extended GPU block. This block is actually black anodized by default and so unfortunately the anodized layer had to come off again. I removed these with drain cleaner and hot water, but beware: I expressly point out that rubber gloves and respiratory protection must always be worn during such operations! Afterwards, the last remnants and also the block were still sanded with fine sandpaper for surface finishing.
But now I was again faced with an unexpected problem that had to be solved elegantly. My plan to install the GPU vertically was blocked by the radiator in the bottom. So what now? Giving up was not an option. Those who read my last build will remember the vertical mount I constructed myself. This is also used here again. Only this time, it is made of sheet metal, since the GPU with the block has quite a decent weight. After this hurdle was cleared, the party finally got started and the GPU was allowed to set the scene.
Power supply
Now we need something to really get us energized. Seasonic offers the right barrel with the 750W Prime SnowSilent and with the Cablemod extensions we also get the right glasses for the right flow. Therefore, it only remains for me to say: Cheers and pure with it!
Irrigation system
To round out the whole theme visually, I use pre-bent 16mm chrome tubes from Bykski….
… in combination with the popular EK-Quantum Torque HDC 16mm Satin Fittings.
By the way, we already know this well: There is always someone who shows up late, when the big fun is almost over. Well, this time it is still generously forgiven and so the Heatkiller Tube 100 from Watercool is allowed to move into the case together with the Aquacomputer D5 Next. But for lack of space and as punishment only in the broom closet. By the way, this is exactly the place where the HDD cage had to vacate before.
