Software and optional LCD display
Since the Tower 200 also comes to the customer completely without RGB gimmicks, no software is actually needed to control the lighting. For configuring the optional LCD display (about 120€) and also for the Toughfan RGB used in the test, however, the program TT RGB Plus is needed, which with a download size of about 150MB and a RAM usage of about 10MB (if it runs in the background and the GUI is closed) can be counted to the more frugal control programs.
The optional display, which I briefly mentioned in the Features section and already introduced on both the Tower 500 and Ceres 500, is essentially a 3.9″ LCD that can display system information, images, and animated GIFs. It installs in no time and connects to a free USB header from the motherboard.
The software is self-explanatory and should not present any savvy RGB fan with an unsolvable task. If only the display is installed and no other compatible devices, not all functions are available. In the “My PC” section, we can view the most essential information, such as the temperatures and the load of the installed hardware.
In the “Lighting” section, we can select which information should be shown on the display. Individual graphics and even animated GIF images can also be played via the upload function.
However, the nerds among us will probably rather have the temperatures or the load displayed instead – this way you always have everything in view without annoying OSDs.
In the program settings, we can set the units (Celsius/Fahrenheit), the location (needed for the weather service) and the general program behavior, among other things.
