Power consumption and efficiency in QHD – 2560 x 1440 pixels
The higher performance of the card with activated BIOS 1 comes at a price, so that you almost catch up with the GeForce RTX 3090 in terms of power consumption. The BIOS 2 is much more modest.
The efficiency of the card with BIOS 1 now almost matches the value of the GeForce RTX 3080 FE and is just behind the RTX 3090 FE. With BIOS 2 this looks better, but you get a little more away from the actual sweet spot. Whoever accuses NVIDIA of the electric crowbar in the RTX 3080 FE will also find it in BIOS 1 of the Sapphire RX 6800XT Nitro+. BIOS 2 is hardly slower, but much more reasonable.
Power consumption and efficiency in UHD – 3840 x 2160 pixels
In Ultra HD, the BIOS 1 card and the now 345 watts are in the middle between the RTX 3080 FE and the RTX 3090 FE, although it has to give up some ground in performance. BIOS 2 however is also here the more meaningful choice, because one is only insignificantly faster, but still more efficient than the RTX 3080 FE.
In Ultra HD, the BIOS 1 card is thus still behind the GeForce RTX 3080 FE, while BIOS 2 can well push itself forward in terms of efficiency.
But gaming alone is not everything and we will also discuss the other load scenarios, the voltages, the load peaks and the power supply recommendation in the following chapters.
