Conclusion
I find it a little difficult to come to a conclusion about the Ponos Ultra. On the one hand, with E-ATX support, the glass side panel with hinge, four pre-installed ARGB fans and a generally successful and well thought-out design, it offers many features that are unusual in this price range. On the other hand, the pre-installed fans are not exactly high quality, the space for cable management is relatively small and the break-out PCIE slot bezels are actually more likely to be found in the budget segment.
And that’s probably the crux of the matter, because none of the minor shortcomings mentioned would be a problem if you were in a corresponding price category. However, the Ponos Ultra is priced at €89.90 and in this price range you can also get hold of competitor products such as the Fractal Design Pop RGB or the Themaltake Ceres 300, both of which offer a higher-quality material appearance and are equipped with better fans. You have to weigh up quite carefully whether the features of the Pono can outperform the quality advantage of some competitor products.
The Ponos Ultra is a good case and only has a few weaknesses, but unfortunately the big “aha effect” does not materialize. However, this can change very quickly with one of Raijintek’s countless promotions and with a slightly lower price of €69.90, for example, you could have (once again) deservedly dusted off a price-performance award. In such a promotion, you can go for it, but I wouldn’t recommend buying it at the regular price.
However, the Arcadia III, which has already arrived and is waiting to be tested, could be very interesting for those looking to save money.
The case was provided by Raijintek for this test. The only condition was compliance with the embargo period, there was no influence or compensation.
