The following hardware was to be installed in the housing for the practical test:
I started by converting the fans because I had to think about how it would look best. The additional “360mm” fan was mounted in the base to achieve the “cleanest” look possible.
Logically, only the optional 120 mm fan, also designed as an exhaust, was considered for the rear.
Installing the gigantic 1500W power supply was a piece of cake and rarely have I been able to access the connections for the (modular) cables so easily after installation!
CPU, RAM and NVME were pre-assembled as usual and thanks to the centering Nubsi, the board was quickly installed. The “first time” AM5 – at least for me:
I replaced the individual 120mm fans of the Kraken AIO with the pre-assembled “360mm” fan. Why? Because you won’t be able to see the sides of the 120mm fans mounted in the front and the single-frame fan, which is definitely visible in the lid, will cut a better figure there visually. It was at this point that I finally noticed that the pre-assembled 360 is a stripped-down (“case”) version of the optional F360 CORE, which only has a 3-pin connector and would later turn out to be miserably controllable. Really, NZXT?
Nevertheless, the AIO with the slimmed-down F360 then moved into the lid, where it also looks very good and doesn’t appear as “squat” as I had feared. In contrast to the wasted space in the base, it’s a bit odd, isn’t it?
Here already COMPLETELY wired. Possibly the “cleanest” build I’ve ever made?!
Not necessarily “clean” on the back, but still reasonably organized – the many lashing points and the tactically cleverly positioned RGB controller really pay off. However, the tangle of cables can’t quite compete with a 1-cable solution (such as the expensive iCUE Link system from Corsair).
Finally, the graphics card (please please please please make the discreet red accent of the Pulse series in the 8000 series RGB so that the card fits into every white build, Sapphire!)
And now the test run could be carried out.
