Summary
MSI has basically brought two rock-solid mice onto the market. Both have very good hardware installed, which has real eSports genes. In terms of design, the two mice do not differ in any way. Whether now with or without cable – that is ultimately a matter of taste. The battery in the wireless version only had to be charged once in the 4 weeks of testing, because it did not arrive at my home completely full. With a battery life of up to 80 hours, that is no wonder. It was in use on average about 3-4 hours a day.
The GM41 mice fit well in the hand and should suit the palm or fingertip grip player. The MSI software (Dragon Center or MSI Center) offers the user all the options to set up the mouse the way one would like. From configurable DPI levels to macros and RGB lighting. For the real latency obsessives, there are NVIDIA Reflex compatible mice so you can measure and analyze any latencies. Nice to have…
Conclusion
Two lightweights among gaming mice, I can more than confirm that. Unfortunately, I also had to realize that MSI does not completely come out of my test without criticism either. The measured latencies disappointed me a bit. This does not mean that the mice are slow, they are fully competitive. Unfortunately, I can’t answer whether this is due to the built-in keys or the missing setting option regarding the key reaction time.
If you buy one of the two mice, you definitely won’t go wrong. At this point you have to understand me correctly! I evaluate the mice in comparison to the market companions that I have tested myself. In the end, as always, it comes down to price. Here, the current market price of the GM41 Lightweight V2 is around 43 Euros. And this is where it gets really hard for me now. The Sharkoon Light² 200 costs 20 Euros less and is not inferior to the MSI Glutch GM41 Lightweight V2 (except for NVIDIA Reflex). Difficult!
The wireless version currently costs about 74 Euros and is also on par with the market companions. The ASUS ROG Pugio II, for example, offers even more features for the same money. In return, the Pugio II is clearly heavy! I would therefore always opt for the MSI Glutch GM41 Wireless. I haven’t had such a light wireless mouse in my hands until now. I don’t have to constantly adjust my DPI and I’m also right-handed. Yes, that is my subjective opinion and I stand by it. For all those who feel the same way – when it should be light, responsive and wireless – the MSI Glutch GM41 Wireless. This is a clear buy recommendation.
Update 24.08.2022
I forgot to mention, that you can run the MSI Glutch GM41 Wireless with an USB cable to recharge the battery and to use the mouse at the same time.
The test samples were provided by MSI without obligation. There was no influence on the tests and results. There was also no compensation for expenses and no obligation to publish.
