The first details about Intel’s upcoming 1st generation Core Ultra “Meteor Lake” processors have now surfaced and provide information about what to expect from Intel’s upcoming mobile processor series (which virtually leaves out the desktop). Intel’s 1st generation Core Ultra “Meteor Lake” CPU series with the Core Ultra 9 185H CPU offers boost frequencies of up to 5.1 GHz. Recent leaks from Golden Pig Upgrade on Bilibili have revealed the specifications for three Core Ultra models: the Core Ultra 9 185H, Core Ultra 7 165H, and Core Ultra 7 155H, as previously reported. All three of these chips are positioned as top-of-the-line offerings within the Core Ultra mainstream family.
Intel Core Ultra 9 185H “Meteor Lake” CPU specifications:
Taking a closer look at the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU specifications, it is noticeable that this chip seems to be the flagship model and has a configuration that includes 6 performance cores based on the Redwood Cove architecture, 8 efficiency cores with the Crestmont architecture and an additional two E-cores with the same architecture as in the SOC Tile. The chip is said to have a base frequency of 3.8 GHz and can accelerate up to 4.5 GHz under normal conditions, with an impressive 5.1 GHz thanks to TVB (Thermal Velocity Boost) technology. These specifications are consistent with earlier reports that indicated the Meteor Lake CPUs would exceed 5.0 GHz.
Intel Core Ultra 7 165H “Meteor Lake” CPU specifications:
The second SKU, the Intel Core Ultra 7 165H, offers a maximum boost frequency of 5.0 GHz, easily meeting the 5 GHz target. The Core Ultra 7 155H is expected to reach 4.8 GHz as peak performance. It is important to note that earlier benchmarks indicated some variability in the CPU clocks in the Geekbench protocol, which could possibly affect the performance.
Intel Core Ultra 5 125H “Meteor Lake” CPU specifications:
The leak also provides access to benchmarks and specifications for the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H CPU, which is a 4 8 2-core model with a base frequency of 3.60 GHz and a boost frequency in the range of about 4.5 GHz. This CPU was spotted in the HP Omen Transcend gaming laptop and scored 2208 points in the ST (single thread) and 11563 points in the MT (multi-thread) test.
It is advisable, as usual, to wait for final benchmark results to be released either closer to the launch date or closer to the actual launch. Most of the chips that will be tested in the next few days may still be in the prototype phase, as indicated by their lower single-core (ST) performance. These chips are also configured to operate in the range of 28-35 watts (minimum TDP) up to 45 watts (nominal TDP).
