Official system requirements
The official system requirements turn out to be quite humane. For 1080p in “original” quality, i.e. the settings that correspond to those of the Playstation 4, an older quad-core processor is sufficient on the CPU side. GPU-wise, the now 5+ year old Pascal graphics cards are listed, specifically the GTX 1060 (6GB) for 30 FPS and the GTX 1070 is said to be sufficient for 60 FPS already. For the full visual splendor in 4K and with over 60 FPS, the fastest available hardware is of course also required for God of War.
Graphics presets
The presets are quite cleverly chosen. There are obviously only nuances between the respective levels and sometimes you can only see the differences at second glance or in a direct comparison. For comparison, I create some small galleries with the same scenes in all presets.

Comparison between individual presets
To see the nuances between different presets, I created a few more sliders. Between “Low” and “Original”, the difference is quite noticeable depending on the scene. At “Low”, both the lighting and the ambient occlusion look a bit flat and can sometimes also diminish the mood a bit. However, this is only noticeable if you have seen the other presets as well.

From “Original” to “High”, the environment coverage becomes even more realistic. In addition, there are sharper textures and more volumetric effects (fog, sea spray, etc.).

From “High” to “Ultra”, practically the same applies. In addition to the effects already mentioned, the LOD (= Level of Detail) is also improved, which is clearly visible in the more detailed bushes and trees in the background.
