Hold-Up Time
Hold-up time is the time period during which the specified output power continues to be provided in the event of an input voltage failure. Even normal power supplies can bridge short-term power failures up to the range of seconds by means of appropriately dimensioned input storage electrolytic capacitors. The bypass time is long, and the power-ok signal is accurate.
Timings
The power supply also supports alternative power saving modes!
Inrush Current (Starting Current)
All power supplies generate a so-called inrush current, which often exceeds their nominal current consumption by far. The causes are the charging of the different capacitances in the input circuit and in the EMC filters, the build-up of the magnetic field in the transformer core and even the charging of the capacitors in the output filter. Only when the converter is operating stably does this input current drop back to normal values. The inrush currents are high for both voltage inputs.
