What is there to write about assembling such a chair when you know the process and there are no hidden hurdles? Nevertheless, I’m going to let you take part in the visual part of my screwdriving, which is better done in pairs because of the weight of some of the parts. You can do it on your own, but it’s a bit more tedious. Let’s start with something easier like the base.
Once you have removed the packaging (watch out for the powder coating!), you insert the five castors. These are universal castors without stoppers for smooth floors, but you could also replace them with special castors as they are a standard size with normal holders. You can also see from below that the cast aluminum form is reinforced by an implemented grid structure.
Then you turn all the fun around and stand the cross on its feet.
The gas strut is a Dant SKQ-A-B-25 Class 4, i.e. a normal Class 4 strut. Since the part is only plugged in, it could also be knocked out from below with a rubber mallet and suitable tool in the event of a defect and replaced with a 25 euro spare part. These gas springs, which are often used in high-quality office chairs and gaming chairs such as the Fractal Refine Chair, offer safe and durable height adjustment. They are capable of supporting a user weight of up to 150 kg, making them one of the most robust categories of gas springs. This classification is based on international standards that regulate the safety and load capacity requirements for gas springs. Class 4 gas springs are characterized by high quality and durability, as they are made of high-quality materials and undergo rigorous testing to ensure their reliability over a long period of time. They are suitable for daily use and provide smooth and consistent operation.
Once you have done the whole thing in less than 5 minutes, the somewhat heavier part of the assembly begins. Difficult because the parts weigh a little more, which is never a bad sign. From a technical point of view, this is still chair assembly at primary school level. So that’s fine.
