Software
As you would expect from Ducky, the ONE 3 is configured completely without software. The only downloadable software is the firmware updater, which allows you to update the keyboard to the latest version.
Configuration
Thus, the ONE 3 is also configured exclusively via an extensive collection of shortcuts, which has advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are clearly that you do not have to install resource-consuming bloatware on the PC and that the full range of functions can be used on practically all devices.
The disadvantage is that the configuration is much more complicated and you don’t have quite as many options, especially for the illumination. Although there are some presets and even the option to configure multiple key zones, I didn’t find an option for per-key illumination.
Because it would definitely go beyond the scope to list the keyboard’s complete range of functions, I will only introduce a few explicit things, such as the basic configuration of the backlight and the recording of macros.
Lighting
Regarding the RGB lighting, we have a whole battery of presets at our disposal and the possibility to mix the lighting color from red, green and blue ourselves. For the latter, 10 gradations per color are available, resulting in a total of 10³=1000 shades, which should already cover a large part of the color palette used. I won’t go into the configuration of different color zones now, but I attach the complete manual where all possibilities are described.
Mouse replacement
Both the TKL and the full-size version of the ONE 3 again feature the so-called mouse function. In the case of the full-size model, for example, the numeric keypad can be used to move the cursor.
Markos
Things get a bit more complicated when it comes to profile selection and macro recording, but once you get the hang of it, the process is actually quite coherent.
Learning by doing is definitely the first choice here..
DIP switch
The ONE 3 again features the ominous DIP switches on the rear panel
While you could mainly determine the position of the FN key and select whether you had a Windows or a Menu key on the right with the ONE 2 by the arrangement of the switches, the range of functions has grown a bit with the ONE 3. With the DIP switches you rather switch internal functions of the keyboard on the new model:
And the positions of the various keys can now be switched via a special menu:
Complete instructions
Because the configuration options are much more extensive than I have touched upon here, I am attaching the manual here today. If you are interested, you can have a look at the whole range of functions in the following PDF:
