RGB Balance

In my test sample, the RGB balance was already out of the box – let’s say: the big problem! The poor RGB balance is the main reason for the poor factory calibration, which is suggested differently to the customer by means of a calibration protocol. And nothing has improved. How could it? ASUS would have to calibrate the monitor again at the factory.

As you can see, no improvement. At least you can now manually adjust the white point and the RGB balance, and the color space is correctly clamped when switching from sRGB to DCI-P3 in the OSD. Now for the but…

The white point settings and the RGB balance, which I set in the sRGB color space, are interpreted completely differently in Display-P3 or Wide Gamut mode. There must still be a bug at work. Greetings to ASUS HQ – please take a close look at this!

Other Issues

The issue of cold start and only 120 Hz?

I could not reproduce the behavior in my retest. I can’t say with certainty whether this really no longer occurs. My colleague Basti from Hardwaredealz had the same problem. Basti has not yet tested the MCM105 FW update. We’ll have to wait and see.

Vertical flickering at low brightness and only 60 Hz/FPS?

The topic comes from the Computer Base forum. Maybe someone of YOU who has a QD-OLED can reproduce this? Here are the instructions from the CB forum:

I have tried to reproduce this problem – without success. Tested with the following monitors: ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDM, Alienware AW2725DF, Alienware AW3225QF, Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 (34″) and the Philips EVNIA 34M2C8600. I could not find this problem with a single monitor. So we can at least rule out that it is systematic. If any of you have this problem, please post it in the forum!

Weil es die Seite auch in Englisch gibt und das mit Sicherheit vorgefertigte Templates sind.

BtT: wenn man das so liest hat man so richtig bock 1500 € an ASUS für das Teil zu spenden ...

dadurch, dass dieser Monitor so im Fokus steht, wird @FritzHunter01 bestimmt erneut nachtesten ... und wenn dann ASUS alle Fehler / Hinweise der externen und kostenlosen Qualitätssicherung durch igorsLAB korrigiert / eingearbeitet hat, wird am Ende (hoffentlich / vielleicht) ein sehr guter und ausgereifter Monitor angeboten, bei dem der Käufer genau weiß, was man für sein Geld erhält.

Vom Windows Screenshot der Einstellungen sollte man möglicherweise den Real Life Namen vom Microsoft Online Konto schwärzen. Der Autor tritt als Fritz auf und nicht als ... .... .

Man kann bitte in den ersten Zeilen vermerken, dass es sich vermutlich um einen PC Monitor sich handelt.

Mein erster Gedanke war ein ROG Notebook.

Meine persönliche Meinung ist, ASUS testet wenig bis gar keine Firmware. (Dass ist Software. die die Hardware programmiert oder einstellt.)

Heute entdeckt vor einer Stunde. ASUS Prime X670-P Mainboard -> coldboot -> f8 -> loading boot menü wird kurz angezeigt (d.h. f8 Taste wurde erkannt) -> Default Booteintrag wird geladen ohne Bootmenü Abfrage.
Falsche Auswertung von F8 Taste gedrückt halten oder nur kurz drücken. Der Fehler ist reproduzierbar mit dem aktuellen UEFI / Bios Firmware.

Ich habe mich genug mit meinem ASUS Mainboard geärgert. Auch mit der deutschen ASUS Support Email. Das wird in zukünftige Käufe miteinfließen. Der ASUS Proart PA278QV Monitor ist problemlos.

Um die Problematik besser einschätzen zu können wäre es gut vollständige Angaben zu machen.
Beispiel was mir fehlt:

Betriebssystem: Windows 11 Pro - letztes Update am 02-08-2024
Grafikkarte: Powercolor Radeon 7800XT Hellhound
Grafikkartentreiber: AMD ... Version X.Y.
Montior angeschlossen mittels Displayportkabel von Grafikkartenausgang DisplayPort-2 zu Bildschirmeingang DP

DP und HDMI werden sich vermutlich anders verhalten.

Warum sind diese Angaben wichtig? Beispiel: Mein Asus Proart Monitor hat nur ein Initialisierungsproblem mit einer bereits verkauften MSI - Nvidia 960 GTX 4GB mit Windows 10. Da wurde das Bild doppelt initialisiert bei einem Coldboot im Jahr 2023. Das war auch einer der Gründe keine Nvidia Grafikkarte zu kaufen - da Probleme mit dem aktuellen Windows mit dem aktuellen Windows Treiber mit einer aktuell unterstützen Grafikkarte.

Es mag ja sein dass ich hier das Kind mit dem Bade ausschütte. Allerdings hat Asus nicht nur bei diesem Model erhebliche Probleme, was die gelieferte Bildqualität out of Box angeht. Angesichts der teilweise weit überdurschnittlichen Asus Preise, finde ich das einfach nur eine Frechheit. Alles Bullshit Bingo by Marketing mal weggelassen und es bleibt ein Produkt übrig wie andere auch. Von mir kriegen die kein Geld.
