The detailed test today is almost a little nostalgic for me, because many years ago the hobby of 3D printing began for me with a Creality Ender-3, the first model without any other additions behind the name. And I wasn’t alone in that; to this day, this model is probably one of the best-selling 3D printers in the world. Creality would probably not be the big company it is today without its huge success. But for the slim price of the original Ender-3, they had to cut a lot of corners, especially quality control, features, and reliability were often lacking. So let’s take a look at how these and other points stand a few years later.

Packaging and scope of delivery
The big brown boxes definitely haven’t changed, which is exactly how my Ender-3 was delivered many years ago. But if it has stood the test of time, it doesn’t have to change.
The interior also looks familiar, a large block of black foam covers all the parts protectively. In appropriately fitting cutouts, the individual parts lie safely until they are received by the end customer.
One layer deeper, the main part of the printer is then hidden, also well protected. The print bed at the base is prevented from moving during transport by the foam.
Despite the good packaging, however, my copy here did get a few scratches on the top.
Fortunately, these are only of a purely cosmetic nature and are also quickly hidden with a black felt-tip pen. The small parts from the scope of delivery we look at now, there we have once the obligatory blue pliers for cutting filament and a sample of white PLA. Not included in the picture is the power cord (C14) with EU plug.
Instructions, various tools for assembly, an acupuncture needle for cleaning the nozzle, a replacement nozzle and an 8GB SD card with USB reader are also included. So actually everything you need to get started.
