With the TC200, Corsair responds to the community and fulfills their wish for a slightly wider chair with a higher load, thus creating a kind of gaming throne, at least visually. In addition to the usual features like the Class 4 gas pressure spring, the steel frame, adjustable armrests and dual-wheel casters, Corsair still relies on the racing seat look in the TC200 and thus stands out from the rather staid office chairs. Read our review to find out whether the throne approach is suitable in practice.
I can tell you in advance that the TC200 looks much better in real life than the rendered version in the video. I still thought it was a nice introduction, because you know directly where you stand. Without further beating around the bush, we also free the kit directly from its box.
Unboxing
The TC200 also arrives in the usual monstrous box, which is simply unavoidable given the dimensions of an office chair.
However, the space is well utilized and all the individual parts are stacked scratch-proof in the best Tetris manner in the box.
Removing the foam and plastic film from the individual parts took as long as the complete assembly.
So here are all the parts in full glory. As you can easily see, this is the black leather version of the TC200.
Let’s take a look at a few more components in detail. The casters make a good impression and are equipped with stop technology, which should prevent accidental rolling around.
The base is made of sheet steel and finished with a black powder coating. The latter is very rough and perfectly evenly applied.
The Class 4 gas spring is made by Andco (China), but we can’t find any information on the stamped model number quickly, but it makes a solid impression haptically.
The rocker mechanism, on the other hand, makes a less solid impression. While all components looked very promising so far, I was briefly taken aback here. I’ll get to that later.
