iCUE Software
Corsair’s extensive software is well known by now. You either love it or you hate it, and it’s definitely anything but resource efficient. With countless background processes, services, a total of easily three-digit MB RAM load and over 1.3GB on the hard disk, the configuration program makes itself quite wide on the PC.
On the main “Start Menu” page we can find the overview of all iCUE-compatible Corsair devices.
In the respective menus, we find the same settings that we already know from the SABRE. In the first menu we can freely assign all the buttons of the mouse. If you don’t need the DPI switching, you can e.g. also put a marko on this button.
The lighting effects are kept within limits with only one lighting zone and offer a correspondingly clear scope. Also with the KATAR ELITE you can work with different layers, with a single small zone (logo) but somehow also not very spectacular.
DPI settings are divided into 5 levels + sniper as standard. There is no dedicated button for the latter, but any button could easily be reprogrammed for this purpose. Up to 4 of the total 5 levels can be deactivated and all can be adjusted in increments of 1 from 100 to 26,000 DPI – including freely selectable indicator lighting for each individual level.
In the device settings you can find other important settings like the lift-off distance and some wireless related options.
The last setting option is located in the SLIPSTREAM receiver. Here we can still choose the polling rate.
