Conclusion
Let us now come to the conclusion. Considering the price, the decent feel and the good wearing comfort, the CH331 can’t be blown away, of course. You clearly get what you pay for, and you should not expect any (sound) miracles for just under 45€.
Cooler Master does not cover itself with glory here, but soberly delivers what you can expect from a headset in this price range. First and foremost, the focus was probably on the construction and the wearing comfort, which was definitely a good idea, but is also “audible” in the end. And I don’t mean creaking materials, but the rather meager and muffled bathtub sound that awaits you in the CH331.
Tracking in games is decent and the microphone is actually better than I expected. However, I can’t explicitly point out more positive things besides the wearing comfort, unfortunately.
Unfortunately, it remains a mystery why the standard software of the Cmedia chip is not available. Thus, you have to resort to third-party software to at least partially bend the unsatisfactory capabilities of the built-in drivers in the right direction with an equalizer.
In the end, I don’t see any good reason against buying the CH331, but unfortunately it’s not enough for a real purchase recommendation.
