The simple and elegant design language is an evolution of previous Dominator models and should make a familiar impression on many prospective buyers. Even without active lighting, the modules are a real eye-catcher, especially due to the almost identical color scheme of the board, heatsink and frame of the RGB element in matte black. Only the hinted cooling fins around the light element are painted glossy black and thus offer a discreet contrast.
But also friends of colorful lighting will find a known and proven formula again with the DDR5 variant of the Dominator Platinum RGB. The lighting element under the frame distributes the light evenly so that no light spots are visible and the hinted fins also give the play of light even more three-dimensionality. And even if you only look at the modules from above with their 5 illuminated, rounded squares on both sides of the also illuminated “Dominator” lettering, they are a real optical highlight, which also incidentally also integrates well with the pixel-style design of the IO cover of current Asus Z690 boards.
