Also included with the board is the ASRock Formula Drive software, which allows BIOS settings such as CPU and cache multiplier and almost all voltages to be changed from within Windows while the system is running. This can be especially useful for benchmarking, e.g. if the settings for maximum performance in a benchmark are not stable enough for the system startup.
The software does what it’s supposed to, can even work with the onboard buttons, read voltages and system specs. Unfortunately, there is also a small drawback here, because the software is relatively slow and likes to allow itself one or two seconds of pause. It’s not a big deal, but it shouldn’t go unmentioned either.
Another interesting side note, by the way, is that Asus’ MemTweakIt software surprisingly also works on ASRock’s Z590 OC Formula, so memory timings can also be set from within the OS. Whether this is intentional, because ASRock itself has no software for this function, or whether it is coincidence, we also do not know. But in any case it is a welcome addition for memory overclocking on the board.
Following I have a small video for you, which shows the OLED display in operation in cooperation with the onboard buttons.
The onboard buttons do exactly what they are supposed to and work well. And for the first glitch teething problems there was already a firmware update that fixed them, so they are on the right track.
