Test prints
We start with the AIO test from Barcode3D, printed in Extrudr NX2 Navy Blue and the 0.20 standard profile.
Even if the overall result looks quite good, the high printing speed has its disadvantages, especially with the overhangs. The layers don’t have enough time to cool down and the print image is marred by corresponding errors. But this is not an insurmountable obstacle, simply increase the minimum layer time or slow down the printing speed for bridges.
The A1 mini printed the clearance fidgetspinner from Sci3D with flying colors, all wheels up to 0.15mm tolerance could be moved directly without much force. Printed in Bambu Lab Basic Orange.
My own Z-Wobble test from Janbex Yellow shows no artifacts in the Z-axis in the printed height up to 75mm. But I didn’t expect anything else with a linear rail.
So let’s move on to the ever-popular Benchy Boot. All were printed in Bambu Lab Basic Green, this first version with the 0.2mm standard profile and a duration of 48 minutes 3 seconds.
If you adjust the default settings according to the SpeedBoatRace Challenge, the time is reduced to 39 minutes and 22 seconds.
The SD card also contains a ready-made G-code for a Benchy, which obviously uses highly optimized settings. For example, infill is only printed on the faster X-axis. The whole thing is finished in about 14 minutes, but I wouldn’t put too much stock in that. Nice to look at, but less suitable for everyday use.
With optimized SpeedBoardRace settings and in “Ludicrous”, this last benchy still achieves a respectable 20 minutes and 44 seconds. And it still looks really good!
But much more exciting than any test objects are the actual print jobs from my everyday life. My first attempts with the new AMS lite definitely look really fantastic if you keep the price in mind. These Marvel Coasters from SJThreeD have turned out really pretty.
And I’m also really pleased with the Santa and Mrs. Claus candle holders from jajaum3d. You can get about 5-6 pieces onto the print bed without any problems, so the purge waste from the color change doesn’t hurt quite as much. The matt colors of the Extrudr PLA NX2 really come into their own here.
To prevent the small piles of filament from simply flying around, I printed this small collecting container from jayburd out of Geeetech PLA Marble. It works okay, but every now and then something flies past.
