Assembly
They certainly didn’t skimp on foam, but nothing should be damaged during transportation.
So let’s put the AMS lite aside for now and turn our attention to the A1 mini.
The bracket for the Z-axis is made to such a high standard that you could almost think it belongs there permanently. Without having loosened the four screws, however, it will be difficult to move it later, so remove it.
The cable ties also need to be loosened. For once, however, this printer does not come with the obligatory pliers, so you have to have them yourself.
Then remove the remaining foam so that all parts can be moved freely.
There are three small screws on the underside of the insulated heating bed that need to be tightened to secure it.
The next step is to attach the purge wiper “free-floating” to the end of the X-axis. The small bag with the matching screw is included in the box of accessories.
It should then look something like this:
The exposed threads of the transport bracket are not left empty either.
This is where the holder for the filament arm is attached.
This can then simply be pushed on from above.
To avoid a blurred camera image later on, don’t forget to remove the small protective film!
The film on the small touchscreen can now also be removed.
Next up is the AMS lite that I put aside earlier!
Simply slide the main part into the stand and tighten the two screws on both sides.
Then attach the spool holders according to the color and numbering and our very spacey-looking filament system is almost ready for use.
All in all, all the steps so far can easily be completed in under 20 minutes, even without any previous knowledge. The instructions are very simple and you can easily follow the video if you prefer. All the complex parts are already assembled.
