Everything used to be better, right? At least that’s what most adults say to younger people, that everything used to be better. If you don’t believe that retro is no longer good for anything, AYANEO could prove you wrong. The company has introduced a number of products that are a remake of various retro products. Even without the beloved emperor of yesteryear.
Since a lot has already been announced, let’s start from the beginning. First of all, we present our AYANEO Pocket DMG. As the name suggests, it is a device for the pocket and is reminiscent of the times of the Gameboy Advanced. The design is adapted to the retro times. The device has a beveled body frame with rounded corners on the bottom and a curved grip area on the back, which are UV-coated. It is equipped with the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 and features a 3.92-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1240 x 1080 and 419 PPI.
Next up is the AYANEO Pocket MICRO. This is also a handheld, but is more suited to people who play their games horizontally. The screen has a resolution of 960 x 640, which offers 4 times the pixel density of the GBA’s 240 x 160 resolution for detailed, tension-free images. The Pocket MICRO comes with a Helio G99 processor and should allow you to play 4X GBA games. A custom nameplate is also included as a small feature.
The third is the AYANEO Starship Graphics Dock AG01, a stylish device with a rather futuristic design. This graphics dock is equipped with AMD’s Radeon RX 7600M XT, in which RDNA3 technology is implemented. This GPU has 8 GB GDDR6 memory with a 128-bit bus interface with a speed of 18 Gbps. The gaming frequency is 2300 MHz. The GPU comes with 32 computer units, 64 ROPs and 2048 stream processors. It supports 2x DP 2.0, 2x HDMI 2.1, OCuLink, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 and USB4 as interfaces. In addition, M.2 2280 SSDs are supported to maximize expandability. In terms of color, you can choose between “Nebula Red” and “Cosmic Grey”.
Next we come to the AYANEO Retro Mini PC AM01S. Here, customers can look forward to a compact mini PC with a relatively simple design. The special feature of this mini PC is its flip design. The device has a small screen that can be “flipped”. This screen can display performance data monitoring and performance mode adjustments, so you have everything at a glance. In terms of technical features, you can expect an AMD Ryzen 8000HS processor. Specifically, either the AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS or AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS. A 65 W dual-fan cooling system is installed to keep things from getting too warm. Two USB4 ports, six UBS-A ports and two 2.5 G network ports are included.
Let’s move on to the penultimate product. Handheld fans can still bag something with this. This is the AYANEO AIR 1S 8840U version and could be quite interesting. As a color option, you can choose between “Aurora White” and “Polar Black”. The processor is an AMD Ryzen 7 883OU with Zen 4 technology. The processor has an 8-core and 16-thread configuration. The GPU is an AMD Radeon 780M, which comes with the RDNA3 architecture.
The last thing you can expect is a product that is for people who have a flat battery on the go and need a new one. AYANEO wants to provide a remedy and introduces its AYANEO Retro Powerbank. As the name suggests, it is a power bank that you can simply take with you. It has a charging capacity of 12000 mAh and can charge your cell phone for some time. You can also get information about it via a small OLED screen. The power bank has two USB-C ports with a charge of 45W. You can also use it to charge your handheld devices.
No specific release date has been announced, but these products are due to be released in the coming months. A concrete price for the respective products has also not been revealed for the time being.
