Features
The ASUS ROG Falchion RX Low Profile is a compact and feature-rich mechanical gaming keyboard. The keyboard features a 65% layout that includes all the important keys (such as arrow keys and function keys) in a compact form factor, making it highly portable and space-saving. Whether on PC or Mac, the Falchion RX can be used anywhere. Equipped with ROG RX Low Profile optical mechanical keys that provide a fast and precise keystroke with a lower actuation point and reduced key travel.
The Falchion offers 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity and also supports a wired USB-C connection for charging and use during gaming sessions. The keyboard offers an impressive battery life of up to 450 hours on a single charge when the RGB lighting is off, allowing for long gaming sessions without frequent recharging. A unique interactive touch panel on the left side of the keyboard allows for easy volume control, media control and customization of other functions. It’s a nice gimmick, but not a must-have.
Falchion features customizable per-key RGB lighting that can be synced with other ASUS Aura Sync-compatible devices, allowing for personalized lighting effects and a unified gaming setup.
Built-in memory allows up to six profiles to be saved, so users can quickly switch between different settings and macros, even when using the keyboard with different devices. N-key rollover and anti-ghosting ensures that every keystroke is accurately registered, even when multiple keys are pressed simultaneously.
Switches
The ASUS ROG RX switches are an in-house development from ASUS, designed specifically for their gaming keyboards. These switches are characterized by some unique features that set them apart from conventional mechanical switches.
Key features of the ASUS ROG RX buttons:
- Optical mechanics: Unlike traditional mechanical buttons that rely on physical contact actuation, the ROG RX buttons use optical mechanics. This means that the button is triggered by interrupting a beam of light. This technology offers extremely fast response times and high precision, which is particularly advantageous in gaming.
- Stable construction: The ROG RX buttons have a square structure with an X-stabilizer. This design ensures that the keycaps remain stable and do not wobble even when pressure is applied from the side. This ensures an even typing feel across the entire keyboard.
- Different switch types:
- RX Red: This version is linear and offers a smooth keystroke without an audible click. It is ideal for gamers who prefer fast, precise and quiet inputs.
- RX Blue: These switches have tactile feedback with an audible click, making them ideal for users who prefer tactile feedback when typing.
- Durability: ASUS ROG RX switches are built to last and are designed to withstand millions of keystrokes. The optical mechanism also reduces wear and tear compared to conventional mechanical switches.
- Integrated RGB lighting: Each RX button has a central RGB LED that enables uniform and bright lighting effects. The square shape and transparent housing of the buttons help to ensure that the illumination of the keycaps is particularly effective.
I think that’s enough at this point. Let’s continue with software and latencies.
