Internal assembly
Only one screw needs to be removed from the rear, after which the entire cover can be slid forward and removed. If you want to prevent this, the eyelet on the back can be locked with a lock.
A lot has been packed into a small space, so that it is still not possible to access the individual components. Even a small 1 watt speaker has been installed. However, I was somewhat surprised by this statement on the Asus product page:
“The ASUS Mini PC PB63 is equipped with an all-new dust filter that protects it from the ingress of airborne particles* and helps keep the internal components clean for improved reliability. This design also makes the PB63 ideal for use in high dust density areas, from industrial environments or high traffic retail stores to arid regions.”
So I don’t see a dust filter on the air intake here, do you?
If you remove the fan, at least the two SO-DIMM slots are exposed. The single installed latch is equipped with the sticker that is also included in the scope of delivery. I don’t know the exact purpose, but my guess would be to block RFI signals. Incidentally, it is DDR5 from SK Hynix, model HMCG78AGBSA092N.
But there is also a lot to discover under the passive cooler. If you equip the two M.2 NVMe Gen4 x4 slots, the cooler should pay for itself.
An Intel AX211 is responsible for wireless communication via WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. An I219-V Ethernet controller is also hidden somewhere.
