AMD’s “new” Ryzen 5000XT CPUs will be released at the end of July

Perhaps some of you will remember. AMD made a number of announcements at this year’s Computex. Be it its new Ryzen 9000 “Granite Ridge” series or its new AI Ryzen 300 chips. But alongside all these announcements, a new update has also been released. This is the Ryzen 5000XT series, in which AMD has given the AM4 socket another two new chips. The release date is now also known and customers can look forward to it.

This means that customers shouldn’t have to wait that long for the release. The release is planned for July 31, 2024. But what else has been changed and what are the technical specifications? Firstly, the Ryzen 9 5900XT, whose configuration has been improved compared to the previous model. Instead of 12 cores and 24 threads, it now offers 16 cores and 32 threads, which is a good increase. However, the maximum clock rate of the AMD Ryzen 9 5900 XT remains unchanged at 4.8 GHz and the total cache is still 72 MB. The TDP value also remains unchanged at 105 watts.

The second chip that AMD will soon be launching is the Ryzen 7 5800 XT, and this retains its 8-core, 16-thread configuration. The total cache of 36 MB and a TDP of 105 watts also remain unchanged for this new chip. However, the boost clock has been increased a little. More precisely, from 4.7 GHz to 4.8 GHz. The two new processors use AMD’s AM4 socket. As mentioned, the chips will be available on the market from July 31, 2024. This is the date on which AMD’s new Ryzen 9000 chip should also be released. Even though a presumed concrete release date is already known, a price is still missing. However, no concrete details have yet been given. This means that customers will have to wait and see what the price will ultimately be.
