AutoCAD 2021 with the Cadalyst Benchmark Suite
Well, AutoCAD has never really been AMD’s domain, but Ryzen 5000 was able to catch up with Comet Lake S for the first time and even take a slight lead. It was even still good enough for Rocket Lake. And then Alder Lake came along and could really annoy AMD’s Ryzens. Now, unfortunately, AutoCAD is extremely CPU-heavy and there is also quite little to parallelize in the normal workspace. It is often what a few cores are capable of that counts.
In 2D and 3D, the RTX A6000 is still almost limited by the CPU even in Ultra HD, although it looks a bit better with Alder Lake.
The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is still 6.2% faster than the Ryzen 7 5800X in the overall score. The score is made up of various individual assessments, which all go to the X3D with one exception.
Partial benchmarks of the Cadalyst
Let’s now look at the individual results, where it then becomes apparent where the X3D weakens a bit. If the internal CPU benchmark, which usually only uses 4 to 6 cores, had turned out a bit better, the X3D would be even more clearly ahead of the Ryzen 7 5800X in the overall ranking. Nevertheless, all the advantages are rather marginal and never a reason for a side-grade. The bottom line is that all benchmarks clearly go to Intel, so you have to be fair in the end.
