Look and feel
Unpacked, the AX15 notebook is almost as plain as the box it came in. I have the gray version, but there is also a silver version to choose from.
The underside is a little more exciting, and we’ll take a look at what’s under the cover on the next page. Apart from the screws, you can only see the rubber feet for a better grip on the table, stickers and ventilation slots.
The matte aluminum looks really good, and I have hardly been able to leave any visible fingerprints on it during my entire time with the notebook.
A first look inside also answers the question of why editions with different layouts are supplied. I was told that programmers and Linux users are happy about the QWERTY layout, but most other users from Germany are probably less so.
At this point, I would also ask you to keep in mind the position of the supposed speakers to the left and right of the keyboard. More on this on the next page.
On the right-hand side, we have a reader for micro SD cards, one USB 2.0 and one 3.0 Type-A as well as a combined AUX socket for microphone and headset.
The left side completes the connection options with USB-C for the charger or a charging dock, a second USB 3.0 Type-A, HDMI and a USB-C port. An LED for power and drive activity can also be found here.
When fully opened, an angle of almost 180° can be achieved. I can’t think of any practical uses for this, but perhaps you can enlighten me in the comments.
