Summary and conclusion
We have already tested a whole host of small computers with various processors here, so surprises are rare. Equipped with a Ryzen 7 5700U, the AMR5 usually ends up just above the 5600H, as expected, and ranks pretty much in the middle of our ranking:
Battle of the dwarfs: Mini-PC benchmark comparison and overview of all models tested so far
If you switch to performance mode via the rotary switch, an additional 4-5% performance increase is possible. Here is a direct comparison of 3DMark Time Spy:
And also at this point again the note that the Windows 11 pre-installed on Acemagic has recently attracted negative attention. My copy was not affected by the problem mentioned at the beginning, but Google Chrome with UpSearch was pre-installed.
There is a statement from Acemagic and a clean Windows image is provided, but it is still extremely annoying.
At the time of testing, you can get the AMR5 with a 5700U, 16GB DDR4 and a 512GB SSD for 359€, provided the coupon is activated on Amazon. Not a bad price for the performance on offer.
The big BUT here is the pre-installed Windows. Even if batches sold now are not supposed to be affected by past problems and can be recognized by a “P2” sticker, I would simply create a guaranteed clean installation medium using the Microsoft tool to be on the safe side and then download the drivers directly from AMD. Depending on who you ask, this is the best procedure regardless of the manufacturer.
