We can then continue with the setup of the printer itself, which should ideally be set up in its final location.

Slicer

I used AnycubicSlicer version 1.4.4 for my tests, but its download page can only be accessed via Google search. On the manufacturer’s website, the side navigation bar is not functional, so I can’t click on the entry, at least in my case. A good start.

Here is a first look at the software based on the PrusaSlicer. To be able to transfer jobs directly to the printer, it must first be added via account or number code in the menu.

I connected any webcam and the slightly jerky and pixelated stream appeared in the Workbench. However, it is completely sufficient for the purpose of monitoring for printing errors.

Interestingly, a function for generating printable images is directly integrated, which is remotely reminiscent of HueForge. A detailed description of this feature can be found on the Anycubic wiki page.

However, it is not clear to me why you can only set temperatures for preheating on the printer itself and not remotely.

When you start a job, you can select a free printer from the fleet, which might be useful for farms.

Inking for multicolor printing works like in PrusaSlicer or Bambu Studio, so it’s relatively easy.

Before starting, the assignment of filament and color can be adjusted again.

If the object consists of several parts, these can also be quickly colored as a whole using the drop-down menu.

The division looks a little strange on a large monitor, and the dark mode set for the rest of the slicer does not work in this window either.
