Ultimate gaming power to go: MAINGEAR introduces its ML17 gaming laptop series

For many gamers who travel a lot for work or pleasure, it can be a challenge to maintain their passion for video games. In such cases, a conventional desktop PC is often impractical as it is stationary. A normal laptop could offer a solution, but is often not enough to display demanding AAA games smoothly. This is where so-called “gaming laptops” come into play, which have been specially developed for such needs in order to remain mobile and be able to do demanding things. The ML17 gaming laptop series from MAINGEAR could be a suitable solution here.

What do the “Ultimate” ML17 gaming laptops from offer? There are three variants to choose from: two pre-configured models and the option to customize the laptop. Let’s take a look at the pre-configured models first. The first pre-configured model costs 3,899 US dollars and offers an Intel Core i9-14900HX processor with 24 cores and 32 threads. It also comes with an NVIDIA RTX 4090 graphics card with 16 GB VRAM. The RAM comprises 32 GB DDR5 with a clock speed of 4800 MHz. A 2 TB Gen4 M.2 NVMe SSD is available as a storage solution, with the option of installing an additional SSD. The 17.3-inch display has a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, a refresh rate of 240 Hz and a 16:9 IPS G-Sync panel. The battery has a capacity of 99Wh. Connections include 2x Thunderbolt 5, 2x USB 3.2 (10 Gbps, one Powered Type-A, one Type-A), 1x Mini DisplayPort 1.4, 1x 2.5Gb LAN, 1x HDMI 2.1 (with HDCP), 1x 3.5mm audio jack, WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

The second model has similar specifications to the previously mentioned laptop, but has 64 GB DDR5 RAM and 4 TB Gen4 M.2 NVMe SSD storage. The price here is 4,299 US dollars. For those who want to customize their laptop, there is the option to expand the RAM up to 64 GB DDR5 and the hard drive storage up to 12 TB. However, further customization is limited. The release date of the ML17 gaming laptops is not yet known.
