Pixel response times vs. overshoot
Oh man, how I missed those endless measurements with an LCD panel – not at all! But, unfortunately, that’s part and parcel of LCDs. Today I’ll start the other way around, first the bad, then the good.
@ 160 Hz Refresh Rate (Overdrive Ultra Fast)
@ 160 Hz Refresh Rate (Overdrive Advanced)
@ 60 to 160 Hz Refresh Rate (Overdrive Standard)
@ 60 to 160 Hz Refresh Rate (Overdrive off)
The performance is ok, even with Overdrive Off you can play well. Advanced and especially Ultra Fast should not be used under any circumstances. Overshoot until the eye doctor comes! I recommend you: If you never get below 144 FPS, you should use the Overdrive Standard. If you need the entire VRR up to 60 Hz, you should definitely stay away from Overdrive. KTC probably sends the H27P22S to the customer with Overdrive Off by default for a reason. The H27P22S does not have a variable overdrive. I would say that the overdrive off can be described as a single overdrive experience. Set it like this and you’re done!
Backlight strobing
Unfortunately, KTC has not included this in the OSD. So let’s continue with the latencies.
