Summary and conclusion
The Sharkoon PureWriter W65 convinces me technically across the board. Its customizable RGB lighting, which can be programmed without additional software, is another nice gimmick. With 18 customizable lighting effects in terms of color, intensity, direction and frequency, it basically leaves nothing to be desired.
It offers impressive flexibility, as the W65 can be used with or without a cable. The keyboard combines a sleek, modern design with outstanding functionality, making it an ideal choice for demanding users. Overall, the PureWriter W65 is an excellent keyboard that perfectly combines style and performance.

The Sharkoon PureWriter W65 is equipped with the high-quality Kailh Choc V2 keys, which offer a first-class typing experience. These keys are convincing thanks to their flat design and fast response time, which is an advantage for both typing and gaming. The Kailh Choc V2 switches are robust and durable, making the PureWriter W65 a reliable choice for everyday use. The customer can also choose between linear or tactile characteristics. In other words: red or brown switches.
In my opinion, the Sharkoon PureWriter W65 is first and foremost something for lovers of small keyboards. Secondly, low-profile users who are also looking for something small for on the go should add the PureWriter W65 to their wish list. For the readers among you who can’t do without a numeric keypad but want a low-profile keyboard, I recommend the PureWriter RGB. And if you’re looking for something between full-size and 65 percent, you can take a look at the PureWriter TKL RGB. It’s also available in white!
My personal conclusion compared to the PureWriter TKL? The PureWriter W65 gives me – subjectively – a different – slightly better – typing feel with a more pleasant sound. The W65 is therefore my new (wireless) travel companion and also replaces the PureWriter TKL for gaming and typing. The only question that remains is the price and availability?
The RRP is 89.90 euros, and to put that in perspective: The PureWriter TKL is currently around 70 euros. The surcharge is well justified – due to the better Kailh Choc V2 buttons and the possibility of wireless use. Compared to many competitors (with comparable offers), the PureWriter W65 is almost a bargain. According to Sharkoon, sales will start at the beginning of July, the exact date will be announced in a press release.
