Normally, most new graphics cards come with triple-cooler ventilation to provide optimal ventilation when the graphics card is under heavy load or otherwise to avoid excessive heat. However, ASUS is probably taking a different approach with its latest graphics cards, which it has just announced. The company is presenting two graphics cards: the two AMD cards RX 7900 XTX and 7900 XT, which offer dual-fan cooling instead of triple-fan cooling. You can do this if you want to save money.
With the new AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and 7900 XT GPUs, ASUS is thus releasing a new version of graphics cards with cheaper dual fans. But let’s take a look at the technical details of these cards, which are otherwise no different from the triple packs.
First of all, we have the ASUS Dual Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC Edition. This comes to the customer with 24 GB of GDDR6 memory with AMD’s RDNA 3 architecture. It also has 6144 stream processors and 96 computing units as well as Ray Acceleratos and 192 AI Accelerators. It has a boost clock of 2615 MHz, which can be increased to up to 2455 MHz game clock.
The ASUS Dual Radeon RX 7900 XT OC, on the other hand, only has a 20 GB GDRR6 memory. However, the RDNA 3 architecture is still on board. Furthermore, it only has 84 computing units as well as Ray Accelerators and 168 AI Accelerators. The Steam processors have a number of 5376. The card can have a boost clock of 2535 MHz, while the game clock is 2175 MHz.
The interesting thing about these two new graphics cards from ASUS is the dual ventilation and that they do not have a three-fan cooling system like the normal standard version. It will be interesting to see how the whole thing performs. ASUS promises an efficient cooling solution with its Axial-Tech Fan Design, but it is to be feared that it will not be quite as quiet. Dyson instead of ROG? Let’s wait and see!
