Look and feel
Once we have finally freed the NAS from its various layers of packaging, we can take a first look at the stylish aluminum housing. I personally really like the slightly matt, gray surface!
The design reminds me a little of the “unibody” chassis of modern notebooks. Perhaps a strange comparison, but the color matches the Envy x360 convertibles from HP almost exactly.
As you can see, there are no ventilation slots on the sides, but there is an external magnetic dust filter on the back.
Let’s return to the front, where we find the power button, activity LEDs for LAN and the four bays as well as an SD 3.0 card reader, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C and a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A from left to right.
The solid range of connectivity options continues at the rear, where we have HDMI, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, two USB 2.0 Type-A and two Ethernet ports. And they pack quite a punch, LAN2 is connected with 2.5GbE and LAN1 even with up to 10GbE!
On the underside, in addition to a mysterious flap, there are just four narrow rubber feet and a sticker with scannable codes for pairing.
