Look and feel
Before answering the question on the previous page, let’s take a look at the case itself. It is obviously based on the existing Masterbox TD500, so it is not a completely new design.
Based on the pattern of the notches in the glass, I would say that it is the Mesh V2 variant. To avoid any accidental confusion, the model name is emblazoned on the top right.
In my opinion, it would have been better not to include this, as I personally would have preferred a completely black rim. On the other hand, I like the color much more.
There’snot much to see on the right-hand side, but this is where I can best present the paintwork, which is a little difficult to capture in pictures.
And even if the thematic leap is now very far, my first thought when I unpacked it was of thelight gray of the 2019 VW Golf VIII, only with a pleasantly matt surface and not glossy.
Removing the side panel reveals another special feature of the TD500 Max. Not only is the power supply unit already installed, but the housing is also equipped with built-in plugs.
These have already been wired to the power supply unit at the rear, and are even reasonably neat.
The fans and aRGB lighting are also already connected to the internal hub. This can either be connected directly to the mainboard or controlled as standard via a button on the front.
There are also two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C port and a combined AUX port for microphone and headphones. A power button in the shape of the Cooler Master logo is of course also included.
