Test system
This hardware is now built into this new case, using an AM5 build:
CPU: | AMD RYZEN R7 7700X |
CPU cooler: | Sapphire Nitro S360-A AiO |
Mainboard: | MSI B650 TOMAHAWK Wifi |
RAM: | 32GB Patriot Viper 5600Mhz ARGB CL38 white |
Graphics card: | SAPPHIRE RX 6900 XT NITRO 16GB SE |
Power supply: | Seasonic PX 850 Platinum |
The following case fans are also used as a reference for the airflow:
6x Seasonic Magflow ARGB black
Dual-chamber configuration | 3x Seasonic Magflow black |
Single chamber configuration | 4x Seasonic Magflow black |
Single chamber configuration
For the single-chamber version, you have to remove the parts of the dual-chamber version on the rear panel and the mainboard tray and replace them with those of the single-chamber version.
There you can clearly see that the mainboard has to go further back into the case to make room for the graphics card without riser cables. The power supply unit also disappears back into its usual place under the power supply cover, as does the hard disk cage. Apart from the cabling, which I will discuss in detail on the next page, this creates much more space for better airflow. At the same time, this also creates space for a fan at the rear of the case.
Cable management is also much easier to manage in this single-chamber version and it also looks better under the circumstances because some large cables can be routed more easily.
The result is a really nice build that is well worth seeing. Here are all the pictures of the single-chamber version in action:
