Software
The iCUE software hasn’t really changed much since my last Corsair review, which is why I’m only going to show you the functions and settings of the K65 Plus in a quick run-through.
As usual, the USB receiver and the keyboard itself are shown in the overview.
In the settings of the receiver, you can see which devices are connected to it. If you have a Corsair keyboard and mouse, both devices can be paired via a receiver.
In the device settings, you can only search for firmware updates; the polling rate for the K65 Plus is set to 1000Hz.
Now let’s move on to the keyboard settings. In the key assignment, we can program all keys and change them as required. In addition to the regular key functions, mouse clicks etc. can also be assigned to a key.
The choice of lighting effects should be self-explanatory.
Under “Options” we can set whether we want to activate the key combinations for e.g. Win-Lock and in which color the FN shortcuts light up – i.e. the keys that fulfill a function in combination with the FN key, all other keys do not light up during this time.
Of course, the rotary control also has its own tab. It can not only be assigned the volume up/down/mute function, but also the brightness of the button illumination and a few other functions.
We can also configure energy-saving functions, the keyboard layout and PlayStation mode in the keyboard’s device settings.
