I had planned a U-shaped arrangement, including the recess for the heater and with enough room to turn on the chair and bend under it. Even if the wide-angle lens distorts things a bit, you can certainly see the concept well. There is around 30 cm of free space under the curtain, enough room for sensible convection from the large radiator. The step on the tabletop at the rear L (above the subwoofer) gives me more air when working at several places and at the same time creates enough space to the rear…
… if, for example, someone wants to sit on another chair and work at the laptop. There is now also enough space to work on up to two benchtables at the same time on the right. A large, very stable swivel arm with a 43″ QLED monitor will be placed in front of the window (i.e. the curtain), so I won’t have to move any more monitors or can use the smaller one in the picture above to monitor the lab on the upper floor (camera and remote desktop)
Of course, I’ve also cleared out my computer desk again. When the new cupboard shelves are delivered soon, the narrow shelf next to the right speaker cabinet will also disappear and I can then set up the whole thing a little more optimally. Despite calibration, corners are always a certain acoustic limitation, unfortunately. Which brings me to the end. I’ve also been through the wind, because there wasn’t just one situation where all this stuff pushed me to my limits psychologically. I hate cables, that’s how it is.
