Whether you’re willing to pay 619 euros for the MSI monitor is up to you. In my opinion, the MSI Optix MAG274QRX is too expensive, as you can get the LG 27GR95QE for “only” 130 euros more. The LG then offers much better motion clarity, real HDR and a good sRGB mode. When it comes to pure gaming, the LG would be the much better choice.
The fact that MSI has decided to send Wellenbrecher a brand new MAG274QRX is also worthy of praise at this point. I also really like the general cooperation with MSI Germany. So much from my side. Today, the author of the reader article has the last word:

After four copies of the same monitor and a year of waiting, I’m looking forward to a “flawless” device. I would have much preferred it to have been like my previous monitors: unpack, assemble, check for dead pixels and then enjoy for years. But things turned out differently, and that can’t be changed.
The test by @FritzHunter has unfortunately confirmed my suspicion that the packaging is inadequate. I now assume that the “open corner” at the top left or right of three out of four monitors is due to the thin polystyrene inside the box. The clips on the corners apparently popped off due to transport shocks because the packaging could not absorb them. There was no visible damage to the box in any of the deliveries. Basically, I can’t understand how a manufacturer can save on the packaging of an expensive monitor. Improvements are urgently needed here. In addition, there is always a risk of permanent backlight bleed, even if a monitor has been manufactured properly in the factory and quality control has taken place, because the thin packaging can press on the panel during transportation.
There were harsh words from me in the reader article (“I can only describe what MSI has delivered with this monitor as a disgrace”) and at this point I would like to thank the editors, who have hardly changed my way of expressing myself. On the other hand, I must now praise MSI Germany, which was informed before the reader article appeared in order to investigate the incident. MSI Germany has taken responsibility and offered to order me a new monitor, which will be checked in advance to avoid defects such as dead pixels. What’s more, I don’t even have to send the current one back, that’s what you call service! For his part, @FritzHunter has also offered to check and test the fifth monitor himself, for which I am also very grateful.
Some things can be improved on the monitor with a future firmware update, as @FritzHunter writes about in his review. However, this and the issue with the packaging are probably decisions made by the monitor division or the monitor department at MSI’s headquarters in Taiwan. As far as I’m concerned, MSI Germany delivered. Fair is fair, I have to give the manufacturer’s representative in Germany credit for that.
The monitor was provided to me by MSI and with the clearance of Wellenbrecher without obligation – for testing purposes. There was no influence on the tests and results. There was also no compensation for expenses and no obligation to publish.
