Uniformity
The usual things you would expect from an IPS panel. Glowing and bleeding, but in my opinion not as extreme as is the case with Wellenbrechers current monitor. At least I don’t see any blue or yellow vignettes around the edge of the panel. The homogeneity is also ok, I would say average. The bottom right corner deviates slightly more than the rest. You usually have to live with deviations at the edges – unfortunately almost always with an IPS panel. The SHARP panel is no exception.

However, it is difficult to assess the extent of glowing or bleeding from pictures. The deviations must be serious, as they were in some cases with breakwaters.
Image errors and other problems
Apart from the already mentioned IPS issues regarding homogeneity etc., I couldn’t find any other faults with this panel. Interestingly, MSI has once again managed to cut corners when it comes to DSC. This means that the 10-bit color depth cannot be used at 240 Hz. This is only possible from 180 Hz. As this is a monitor – without real HDR – I can personally cope with this. Nevertheless, nowadays you should expect DisplayPort 1.4a to be able to support DSC. Well, at least MSI seems to be consistently following the wrong path here!
I couldn’t find any other problems with NVIDIA or AMD graphics cards. I didn’t test HDR, even though the monitor got the funny VESA-HDR 400 sticker. The MAG274QRX doesn’t have any HDR hardware (local dimming), so it’s basically a fake HDR monitor.
Sound reproduction
The MAG274QRX has not been equipped with built-in speakers – why should it? But there is a jack connection that works and everything else can be played via the good old headset or sound system.
Webcam and microphone
Not installed. Which brings me to the end. Last page please.
