Gaming performance summary in 1440p
The GeForce RTX 4090 still pulls through fully, even if there are already individual limitations due to the GPU. But a real bottleneck looks different. And whoops! The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is now slightly ahead of the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, which seems to have slight disadvantages in the medium partial load range. Only then follows the Core i9-14900K, which can get ahead of the Ryzen 9 7900X3D and the Core i9-13900K. The remaining pairs of old and new perform as expected.
The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is 1.6 percentage points ahead of the Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 3.0 percentage points ahead of the Core i9-14900K and still 7.1 percentage points ahead of the Core i9-13900K, which is again somewhat humiliating, especially in terms of efficiency. But we’ll get to that in a moment, just be patient. And it’s still 12.2 percentage points ahead of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and even 20.9 percentage points ahead of its direct counterpart, the Ryzen 7 7700X without the 3D cache as the taillight. The Core i7-14700K is just as close to the i7-13700K as the Core i5-14600K is to the older I5-14600K.
The result is a bit closer for the P1, i.e. the new Min FPS. The Ryzen 9 7950X3D is once again just ahead of the Core i9-13900K, the Core i9-14900K as well as the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, even if it’s more of a tie with the two Core i9s this time. The rest lags behind as usual, including the Core i7-14700K. Generally, all three new Core models are a bit slower than the predecessors here, which is surprising, but remains consistent.
