Summary of the gaming performance in 720p
As requested, we’ll start in 720p, of course. I guess it has to be that way. Since I’m tired of always and constantly having to discuss settings and resolutions, I just did all four variations again this time, so from mouse cinema to ultra HD. That’s why I’ll start with the lowest resolution, which is so often recommended for CPU tests. And you can already see that two CPUs can really stand out here. Since I deliberately didn’t follow Intel’s selection, I’m quite satisfied with the accumulation of my results.
Intel’s Core i9-14900K is almost 4 percentage points faster than the predecessor, but it doesn’t come close to AMD’s two fast X3D CPUs with the extra cache. The 14th generation beats the 13th generation as expected, even at the socket. We will see later that the Core i5-14600K is much more efficient, the other two are quite thirsty for what they offer.
More interesting is the outcome in the P1, i.e. the new Min FPS. Here, the Core i9-14900K is almost 3% ahead of the i9-13900K, but also ahead of all AMD CPUs. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D in particular has to drop considerably here with far more than 7 percentage points.
