Power consumption in factory state as summary
The 23 watts at idle have improved, but are still quite high, fluctuating between 10 watts and up to 30 watts. With a second monitor, it quickly becomes 50 watts and more (peaks over 60 watts). The driver still urgently needs to be improved here, especially since the PCIe does not always clock down properly, not even on a current Intel system. By the way, we can see very nicely that almost the full TBP is used starting with WQHD and only the OC run or torture loop really increases. AMD’s new telemetry implementation for the entire card has a strong limiting effect here. I had already discussed this in several articles. Load distribution between PCIe slot and the PCIe sockets
The distribution of the power supply shows that the card still has reserves when it comes to TBP and the performance of the rails. While the two 8-pin connectors aren’t fully utilized either, the mainboard slot is also very well in the running with up to 1.7 amps. So, there would still be room for an OC, but do we really want it?

All in all, AMD has solved the load distribution very well here. While NVIDIA has almost completely stopped supplying via the PEG, AMD still used this rail quite excessively until recently.
