System construction
First up is mounting the motherboard, I have already installed the i7 5960X and the 280mm AiO water cooling. The middle standoff from the case is made to hold the motherboard in place while you screw it down.
By the way, the RAM is not final yet and is just a placeholder for now before anyone complains. I couldn’t find my 4x 4GB, which of course would be more appropriate with this quad-channel board.
Directly after that I installed the power supply, because currently the EPS/CPU power supply can be reached quite easily.
As you can see, after installing the radiator in the lid, I save myself some annoying fumbling.
The Arx 500 can accommodate a single 3.5″ HDD, the slow extinction of hard drives in the home gaming system is probably also noticeable at the manufacturers. Nevertheless, a 1.5TB model from Samsung is used. Rubberized spacers decouple the vibrations from the case.
There is still enough space in front of the power supply to accommodate several cables. I made a nice loop, didn’t I?
Thanks to the many cable ties and possibilities to attach even more, a halfway decent cable management can be achieved without much effort.
Inside the case, there is an extra cable feed-through for the power cables, which is also practical. By the way, the flap above the PCIe slots has a magnetic holder in the center and can therefore be opened without tools.
Then the RX 590 Red Devil is installed and our system is ready to go!
I think we could fill the case quite well, nothing looks empty here. A good size for a mid-range system.
