Technical data
Let’s move on to the technical data. Since I’m actually quite late with the review of this model due to my short time off (exams), at least all technical data were already known – at the last SountPeats review I had to add some information. As always, the technical data is presented in a clearly arranged table.
Features
LDAC
In LDAC mode (only compatible with Android smartphones), the Engine 4 are supposed to deliver crystal clear highs and deep bass (20-40,000Hz).
Battery life
With a battery life of up to 12.5 hours (43 hours total with recharging in the charging box), the Earbuds are suitable for commuting, traveling or sports. Thanks to IPX4 certification, even sweat and splashing water are no problem.
Drivers
The Engine 4 are equipped with coaxial dual drivers and newly developed dual crossover technology. The use of a 6 and a 10mm driver should provide an optimal listening experience over the entire frequency band.
Multipoint
The wireless connection also supports multipoint pairing thanks to current Bluetooth 5.3 technology. This allows the headphones to be connected to two sources at the same time – for example, a computer for listening to music and a smartphone at the same time. For incoming calls, the input and operation is automatically switched to the smartphone. (Note: Requires the SoundPeats app to be installed on the smartphone, however, and is not compatible with LDAC mode, see hands-on test).
Smartphone app
The SoundPeats smartphone app can be used to further customize the Engine 4 to suit personal listening preferences. In the app, the functions of the Earbuds can be set and the sound can be adjusted using the equalizer.
For the curious, I still attach the multilingual manual:
