Summary and conclusion
Overall, the assembly of the table, monitor mount and the chair was really easy and quite relaxed to do with two people. I think that you can also do the assembly alone with a little more time, but the second pair of hands is simply recommended. Knows one yes from the furniture assembly, also applies here.
I was initially a bit skeptical about the stability of the table, such a structure with a multi-part tabletop I had not yet. But the Atlas L could surprise me positively, because in the end nothing rattled or wobbled. Completely free of criticism, however, it does not come here through the article, since the construction has gone some time in the country and I let my friend tell me again what he has noticed in the meantime. The small cable hooks with double-sided adhesive tape, which are used on the underside, have come loose again after a while. So the adhesive is not quite durable. I would have liked it already during assembly and it also remained a problem: The storage space under the table for cables, power supplies of the monitors and other stuff is a bit tight. The multiple socket has to be squeezed in somehow.
Nevertheless, a really “clean” setup can be conjured up with a little effort, at least for the first few days after the setup. So quickly take a picture, which can then always be shown later. The desk will never be that tidy again in everyday life. The two rubberized cable grommets just above the mouse pad are a feature that I would have liked to have integrated into my desk as nicely. But I had to help myself with the hole saw.
However, the Scrim BK chair caused us some grief, because when we sat down on it, there was a strange noise in the chair during the last third of the movement. On the underside of the seat you can see movement in the fabric, but you can’t really pinpoint it. It seems to me to be a spring, which is compressed a bit too far. Endorfy itself could not really understand the whole thing and wanted to send a new chair directly. As a normal buyer, I had also directly claimed this exchange, but here it was waived. In the ergonomics it has made no difference, so you can live with. I with my 1.86m still fit quite well in the chair, but my friend is with 1.98m again somewhat larger and has so his problems with the “racing seat” shape. His shoulders are pushed forward by the two outer parts of the shell, which can be uncomfortable when sitting for long periods. So if one is rather tall, this chair is not optimally shaped.
On the other hand, we can only report positive things about the dual monitor holder, where everything is still in place. Cables can be routed through the holders with little visibility and then disappear out of sight under the table. As for the floor mat, the black surface is quite susceptible to visible marks from the chair’s casters when some dust has accumulated. With a damp cloth but also easy to clean again.
Good 3 months the whole thing is now so in use and holds up well so far. The actual longevity (or lack thereof) can of course not yet be judged, but it’s a good start. If there is anything to report, I will add it here.
Last but not least, two questions for you guys: I would rather classify this article as a showcase than a test report, is something like this worth reading? And what about you, is the setup including peripherals “all of a piece”, i.e. everything from one manufacturer or mixed?
