Benchmarks – XMP
In XMP mode at DDR5-6800 and CL34, the benchmark results are as you would expect relative to the other configurations. In latency-sensitive applications like PyPrime, the kit is effectively as fast as the reference config with DDR5-6400 CL32, also from G.SKill by the way, and with identical computational CAS latency.
In the bandwidth-sensitive tests, it’s mainly the clock rate that dictates the order, and accordingly the 6800 kit is usually in second place, behind the recently tested 7200 kit from Corsair. The relatively loose tRAS timing of 108 for DDR5-6800 here isn’t really noticeable for G.Skill, or the disadvantage due to the clock is simply bigger compared to the Corsair kit with DDR5-7200 and tRAS 96. If we test a kit with an identical clock rate in the future, we will take a second look at the high tRAS timing at G.Skill.
