First photo: the NVIDIA AD104-250 GPU for the upcoming GeForce RTX 4070

The team at MEGAsizeGPU has just released the very first image of NVIDIA’s AD104-250 GPU. This GPU is known to be used by the upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 desktop card, which is expected to launch in 2 months. It is a so-called QS (Qualified Sample) from calendar week 48 in 2022, which therefore already dates back some time and has already been distributed in this form to the respective board partners in order to test the so-called test vehicles with it.

The AD104-250 is one of the two variants that are used specifically for this NVIDIA SKU. Furthermore, there is also already a “251” model where the missing functionality of the voltage comparator is already active again, but this should not make a difference for the end user.

There was speculation that the RTX 4070 would go into mass production as early as February, but it looks like the card won’t hit the market any earlier than April. NVIDIA also has plans for RTX 4060 Ti, which uses AD106-350 GPU, but this card could also appear later. Perhaps in the context of Computex 2023
