Methodology
An AMD Ryzen 9 3950X has to be cooled in various levels of power consumption, joined by 16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport (2x8GB) DDR4 memory on an MSI B550 Tomahawk (BIOS 7C91vAB). The Asus ROG Strix GTX 1060 6GB runs in zero-fan mode for the CPU stress tests only and a Fractal Design Ion Gold 750W serves as the power source. The whole thing is housed in the Thermaltake Core P3 as an open benchtable.
The test system runs on Windows 10 Pro 22H2 (build 19045.2251). All data sets are recorded with HWInfo64 v7.34-4930 – 2000ms logging, the specified temperature results from the sensor CPU Die (Average). Since I don’t have air conditioning, the values in the graphs are the delta between room temperature and CPU temperature. This allows all cooling systems to be compared fairly, even if the ambient temperature is different. The thermal paste included with the cooler or pre-applied is used in each case.
I determine the sound level with a Voltcraft SL-200 meter at a distance of 40cm, which operates in 125ms cycles in Lo mode. The room was measured at 33.3 dB(A), an external sample table helps to break it down.
Benchmarks
Since there are quite a few different results today, I decided to present them in tabular form. The coolers were each set to a volume of 40 dB(A) at a distance of 40cm.

Summary and conclusion
The following “ranking” can be derived from the results:
- Mobius fan + Cryofuze thermal paste
- Mobius fan + standard thermal paste
- Standard fan + Cryfofuze thermal paste
- Standard fan + standard thermal paste.
Unsurprisingly, the new fans bring more than another thermal paste. However, the potential for improvement with the fans is – I think – also easier to exploit than with the paste.
However, if you go from the detailed view back to the big picture, the difference is quite small even in the best case. The real CPU temperature without delta to the room reaches almost 90°C at 200 watts, so the cooling possibilities of the AiO are rather exhausted here than there is much room for improvement anywhere.
But even if I could not determine a big gain for the Cryofuze thermal paste here, I can still praise it: The normal thermal paste from Cooler Master, which was included in the AiO’s scope of delivery, is not bad either. And if you absolutely want to tickle out another 1-2°C here and there, you can carry out corresponding upgrades in the form of fans or thermal paste. Cooler Master is also releasing a special version of this water cooler for its own 30th anniversary, which has the new Mobius fans ex-factory, but unfortunately Cryofuze thermal compound is not included.
The test sample was provided by Cooler Master without obligation. There was and is no influence on the tests and results. There was also no compensation for expenses and no obligation to publish.
