Now it’s finally time for the hardware. For this, my choice fell on the MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus. This board is not only sleek, but it has everything you need. And that too at a pretty good price. The equipment is decent, the board offers enough USB ports and M.2 ports. RGB fanatics are also catered for, because the board can also glow.
Of course, our board also needs a suitable RAM. This one comes from XPG this time and to be exact. is the Spectrix D45G. The specification is suitable for the AMD system: 16 GB 3600 CL16. You can do it this way.
And always already insert the right way around and also thoroughly press tight. But we already know that from the 12VHPWR connector. If you’re not in it, you’re out of it!
Of course, the system needs a decent mass storage device, which is why I conveniently use the M.2 slot. The matching NVMe SSD comes from Crucial in the form of the common P2 with a size of 1 TB. This time, however, I install two of the 1 TB version, because they were just cheap. These have a sufficient reading and writing speed for me and should probably not cause any losses in almost all situations.
So, now the system also needs a brain. Since I still like to rely on the AM4 platform and simply don’t want to put up with the current pricing, the Ryzen 7 5800X is used. This 8 core CPU will be sufficient for every game for a long time and is just right for the price
The socket AM4 is still a pin grid array. This has become almost nostalgic!
