Some theory in advance: dew point and dew point temperature
Individualization of the Dect 302 and adaptation to the planned user behavior
Now it gets exciting for the first time, because the obligatory firmware update always comes before the fine-tuning. Just see and click…
… then of course wait. Since the refresh does not always take place immediately when the status is changed, you can also click on the “Device management” menu on the left in between. The update may well take a few minutes, so please do not despair…
…because someday even that will be done! And I can only advise to do the update FIRST and then configure the Dect 302. By the way, you can update several Dect 302s at the same time, but you still have to be patient.
Now comes the baptism and the education, i.e. the naming and the marching into the smart thermostat life. First, let’s start with a meaningful name.
After that we set the temperatures. The “setback temperature” is the temperature that we want to allow outside the heating periods (“comfort temperature”), i.e. the lower limit. On the one hand, please pay attention to the frost protection (even if the Dect 302) has a built-in safety function here. In addition, you must also pay attention to the dew point, because rooms that are too cold quickly become susceptible to mold (see above). You simply choose a “temperature brush” and mark or remove the areas when you want to heat. Unfortunately, the Dect 302 can only handle two temperature states, even though you would have liked to have two target temperatures (working and relaxing), for example, during the day when you tend to move around the room or in the evening when you are relaxing. In my opinion, this is the biggest shortcoming of the Dect 302 and is actually incomprehensible considering the price. Some Chinese firecrackers can already do that better.
In addition, you can virtually put the parts on ice and define a completely heating-free period. The sensitivity with the detection of an open window is a bit tricky. Unfortunately, depending on the window sill and overhang, the Dect 302 is in the “slipstream” so the response to a sudden temperature change doesn’t work that way no matter what you set. Then you have to use an external thermostat for this heater. It also becomes problematic if you have e.g. two radiators (or more) in the same room combined in one group. The “inheritance” of such information doesn’t really seem to work here yet for all thermostats in the group.
You can also be informed by mail and the push service. Well, who likes it… And now? Done, that’s it. Complicated is really different.
